What I learnt about pressure sores...
- mobilizing your patient can prevent pressure sores as blood circulates around the body which prevents blood clots.
- pressure ulcers are found on bony areas of the body such at the sacrum, shoulders and elbows.
- patients who are immobile and dependent on the nurse must be turned every hour to prevent pressure sores developing on the patient's body.
- and if patients develop pressure sores while being in the hospital its can be recognized as a sign of negligent nursing, so nurses need to care for patients correctly while they ae in the ward and not neglect them.
