Group norms are the unwritten rules or expectations that guide behaviour within a group. In nursing it is shared expectations and behaviours that help in the promotion of professional growth, ethical conduct, and high standards of practice. A few examples of this would be advocating for patient which promotes a dynamic stance in speaking up for patients' rights, safety, and well-being. It also lends itself to being an advocate for the profession of nursing itself & Collaborating and working as a team which stresses the importance of effective communication and mutual respect among nurses and the rest of the multidisciplinary team. It creates an environment where collaboration is seen as essential for quality patient care and a positive work environment.
