As a nurse, i have come to understand that loss, grief and dying are not just clinical realities but are human experiences that enters a room with every patient we nurse. We as nurses have learned how to carry grief with us without letting it consume us- but leaves a mark which becomes part of our strength. Dying teaches us more about living and reminds us of the value of time, the comfort of touch and the importance of compassion in every little action. We as nurses not only grief the lives we loss but also the unfinished stories of those patients.
