On a personal note, I have lost a few people who were very close to me and helped raise me. Although it is a sensitive subject, I am comfortable speaking about it at the moment. My initial feelings were denial and disbelief. Personally, I was the one to help arrange the funeral and put all the personal affairs in order, dealing with the lawyers estate and talking at the ulogy. In my experience, I was relieved when they passed away as they were suffering, confused, and relieved that they were in a better place. Death just always seems to come so instantly, and it happens before you truly realise what happened, then it is over. It is an extremely stressful period and can cause trauma and psychological issues. Therefore, I have gained that death can be a beautiful thing as loved ones move on as a part of the reality of life. Although they will be missed. It can also bring a lot of peace.
A person should always allow each individual to take their own time to deal with it in their way. it is of utmost importance to asses and look out for signs mental complications such as depression and anxiety as it is the ones that stay behind that bear the scars and not the loved one that passed.
