After reviewing the presentation, I was reminded that grief is not limited to the loss of loved one, it can also stem from losing independence, health, or meaningful role in life. The stages of grief are denial, anger, bargaining, depression and acceptance- stood out to me as a helpful framework for understanding how people navigate loss of their own pace. It made me think about how essential it is for nurse to provide emotional support, not just physical care, during these vulnerable moments. One key takeaway for me was the importance of active listening. Sometimes simply being present with someone in their grief can offer more comfort than trying to take their pain.
