Grieve, loss and bereavement have one common thing, it is a situation no one wants to experience. it changes one's concept about life and in extreme cases personalities change too. factors that may influence the normal process of grief includes, the way a person dies (natural, accident, suicide), the connection with the deceased can prolong the grieving process, the position of the person in the family that might be the breadwinner.
Nurses have made it a norm when a person passes and tends to act normal and continue with other things as a coping mechanism but in that process the dignity of the patient or situation is lost. nurses should get counselling from time to time, come face to face with own feelings on death and dying.
