They help promote high quality patient care, safety and confidentiality. Norms ensure compliance with ones accountability and ethical practice in the nursing profession.

Well said, without those principles most would be working and walking blind in the healthcare profession as nurses. A lot of things would go wrong and all our energy put in to work would be in vain with no direction.
