This is a difficult situation not for only the family of a dying or dead patient, but you as a nurse you also feel the because you have cared for this person and you have a patient-nurse relationship. This is where you need to put yourself in those family shoes for you to understand what they're going through. Grief is different with each person, be mindful of your words and you can include therapy,pastor etc ,for the family members, that can help comfort them through this time of their life.As a nurse respecting their decision on how they want to grieve is vital.
