Way before the presentation...
In my early days I thought that stress was just a term that older people just used to casually throw around as they would constantly talk about it amongst themselves. When I was able to get a better understanding of the term stress I then witnessed that people find different means and ways to cope with it.
Recently, after the presentation;
Stress could either be acute (short term) or chronic (long term)
Seeking professional help when overwhelmed by stress could be beneficial and the most practical thing to do than to just ignore the need for it. Ignoring the need for help often leads to a downward spiral.
Different coping mechanisms dealing with stress:
1. Talking, and expressing oneself- Sharing your feelings helps you gain perspective and feel supported.
2. Reflective journaling- Writing about your values, purpose and experiences can help realign your emotional state.
3. Spend time with positive people and loved ones- Emotional recharge often comes from uplifting social interactions.
4. Accept imperfection- Eliminating the need to fix every problem or please everyone can reduce unnecessary pressure.
5. Seek professional help if needed.
